Twice Hit By Same Auto In Arverne Accident
Edward Bittorf and Jacob Kaufman of 26 Chase Avenue Arverne were struck on the Boulevard between Far Rockaway and Rockaway Beach. The car sped off, returned, and fled the scene after both men were hurled twenty feet and left unconscious. Bittorf fractured his left leg below the knee. both victims were taken to Rockaway Beach Hospital, where Bittorf was listed in serious condition. Arthur M. Frankel, an Arverne resident driving in the same direction, provided police with the car number and description as authorities searched for the vehicle and driver.
