Ibbetson baronetcy claim exposes royal title farce in England
The notice discusses George Broun Ibbetson claiming a baronetcy tied to 1748 grants and kinship to Sir Henry Ibbetson. It questions the right to such honors, notes lineage limits for hereditary titles, and mentions the absence of a modern baronetage tribunal. It cites Lord Rookwood’s elevation and suggests reviving the Earl Marshal's Court to adjudicate baronetcies.

Olive Mead Quartet at Mendelssohn Hall Presents Corelli Piece
The Olive Mead Quartet performed at Mendelssohn Hall with Miss Mead and Mr. Arthur Whiting on a Corelli sonata in D minor for violin and harpsichord using a modern American harpsichord. The blend with the harpsichord showed tension between modern violin tone and ancient continuo color, and the ensemble’s overall warmth remained strong despite a less convincing Corelli effect. The lineup includes Miss Helen Reynolds as second violin this season, without losing the quartet’s distinguished tone in Mozart.
