Grotesque torso found in ice filled bundles near West Meadows
Detectives and police wrestled with two burlap bundles discovered in a swampy area near West Meadows between Coney Island and Ulmer Park. One bundle yielded part of a woman's torso, the other reportedly held the rest. Authorities thawed the bundles hesitantly before opening them. The site is near Bay 50th Street. local residents John Connors and Joseph Lavalle alerted police after spotting the wrapped bundles and a newspaper from December 21 inside.
