Brother’s shot kills brother in accidental pistol duel
In Montclair New Jersey on January 1 13 year old William Horrax died from a shooter to the heart fired by his 15 year old brother Gilbert both had received .25 calibre rifles at Christmas. They were sparring with loaded magazines and believed the guns empty. Gilbert claims a misfire and both boys thought they had fired all cartridges. The shooting occurred upstairs after dinner. their father Edwin Horrax carried William to the bed where he died in his arms. Dr Wright and County Physician Dr McKenzie ruled accidental. Gilbert was not taken into custody.
