Missing Colton securities found empty in Wall Street box

The Atlantic Safe Deposit box holding Mrs. Ellen M. Colton estate securities was opened by California administrators David F. Walker and Walter J. Barnett with no securities recovered. Barnett, jailed on $200,000 bail for embezzlement, is linked to the estate dispute prompted by Margaret Sacher of Paris alleging undue influence by Mrs. Dahlgren and Barnett. Collectors Douglas and Parker returned to Washington after the box revealed nothing. The ongoing case seeks to set aside the will, which largely favors Mrs. Dahlgren.
