A massive blaze destroyed the Park Avenue Armory on Park Avenue at Thirty-third and Thirty-fourth streets, killing several occupants and injuring firefighters. The adjoining Park Avenue Hotel caught fire, forcing guests to flee as cartridges exploded and a powder magazine detonated. Nurse shoots child and self in tragic infatuation case
A German servant employed by Mrs. W. J. Simons at 90 Bruceave Caryl shot five year old Emma Fischer and then attempted suicide after being threatened with discharge over her attachment to Georgia Simons.
