State Police Trooper Fights Burglars in Sound Beach Shootout
Major Alden L. McMurtry of the Connecticut State Police killed two burglars during a dark battle at Mrs. Bize G. Morris's home in Sound Beach Connecticut. McMurtry was wounded in the arm, Addison Bacon was grazed in the jaw and shoulder, and one suspect died at the scene while the other died later in hospital. The burglars, Giovanni Noreea and Anthony Forlenzo, 16 Havel Street Stamford residents, had loot from nearby robberies. Police and Bacon were hospitalized. McMurtry is a former U S Army General Staff member and inventor with a Greenwich office.
