Walter Davis Dies After Triple Spine Fracture at Coney Island

Crew of the L Schepp Rescued At Point Lookout
At dawn the wrecking tug Chapman and a light er arrived to rescue the twenty four crew members of the ship L Schepp ashore at Point Lookout after a gale. Captain Kendall urged volunteers to stay with him, two sick sailors were brought ashore, others evacuated to Long Beach and Point Lookout stations. The Schepp may soon be moved to deep water as seas risk breaking her up. A second stranded ship, the British Cavour, was being unloaded and pulled to safety.
