Parsons Plans for New Subways Across Manhattan Brooklyn and Bronx
Plans presented to the Rapid Transit Commission outline three borough extensions and new lines. Manhattan would gain an East Side route from Battery to Lexingto n Avenue and a West Side line to Forty second Street. Brooklyn proposals include a connection via the Manhattan Bridge to Fourth Avenue, plus an alternate Battery to Hamilton Avenue route. Rescue At Sea Saves Drumelzier Crew Near Diamond Shoals

Rescue Feats Save Entire Drumelzier Crew At Sea
Three perilous rescues by Sandy Hook Oat Island and Fire Island crews and the W E Chapman saved the Drumelzier crew and officers. Fifteen men were pulled into ice boats by Captain Patterson's Sandy Hook team, amid towering waves and spray. The lifeboat reached the steamship, took off fourteen men and a boy, then returned to the tug Atlantic Dock. Captain Nicholson and sixteen crew members remained aboard as conditions worsened.
