Governor Cleveland to be sworn in next week

Cooperative Store in Brooklyn Placed Under Receiver

Boiler Explosion Kills Two at Mason Coale Mill

In Norrh Apaws Massachusetts on December 26 a boiler explosion at Silas Mason Coales Mill in Deartwellville Vermont killed owner Marabalt A Mason, 24, and engineer Frederick Williams, 30. Two others fatally injured. The blast shattered the mill, blew out windows and doors, and hurled debris, with a boy nearby also harmed. The boiler had been repaired recently and had not been used for months.

Writ Compels Petersourg Treasurer to Surrender Office

Collision disrupts trains at Bridgeport junction

A New York and New Haven Railroad passenger train due at 6 61 am collided with a freight train near South Avenue in Bridgeport Connecticut. The freight cars crossed from the Naugatuck track into the yard leading to the turnout and two freight cars derailed. No injuries are reported and the incident caused delays for early service.
