Whisky Ring Trials Reach St Louis as Col Babcock Returns East

Cease, Dec. 21. Col. Babcock leaves for Washington after a consult with Judge Krum of Louis. The whisky ring cases proceed in St Louis with Judge Tre at St Louis and Dillon presiding. Taft, Welmar, Burbach and Feyolde face various sentences for conspiracy to defraud the revenue and related offenses.

Ice yachts launched in Poveuxeerste as cold snap grips region

The Commenlore Irving Grinnell tee yacht launched today in Poveuxeerste New York with the New-Hamburgh Tee Boat Association to follow. Ye Poughker pale Tee Boat Club yachts to be launched. Weather permitting, both associations' annual regatta likely next week. Fatal skating accident on Newark pond traps three or more

A pond at Sixth to Eighth streets and Lake to Aqueduct in Newark collapsed while about 100 skaters were on the ice. Three drowned after two broke through the ice. one rescuer tried to help others but could not save them as the ice gave way. The pond has long been dangerous with prior fatalities.
