Warren & Wetmore contend the New Prisons Commission overstepped its scope by appointing an architect beyond a three-design competition. They challenge Beardsley plans as costlier than the approved 2,090,900 cap and lacking future expansion. The case, tied to state architect Ware’s veto power and 1906 07 amendments, faces an injunction hearing this week.
