A White Man's World and Female Exclusion in Thought

The piece discusses an article by Professor L W Thomas from Chicago University, arguing the world is a "white man's world" where women, like the poor and savage, are excluded in part. It asserts women lack voting rights and face a more honorific exclusion, yet the world offers varied mind expressions to enter upon full immersion.

Change in Bond Trading Rule under Study

The Stock Exchange considers changing bond quotations from fiat to including accrued interest. Backers say it aligns with pricing while skeptics warn it could complicate dealings as accrued interest fluctuates daily. Also, Francis G. Wood notes a stock swap: Hudson River Telephones and New York and Pennsylvania Telephone and Telegraph will exchange for Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania stock. Exchange rates: one Pennsylvanian share per two New York and Pennsylvania shares, and one Pennsylvanian share for one and a half Hudson River shares. Hudson River Telephones’ capital stock totals 3 909 900 dollars, of which 22 083 100 is held by American Telephone and Telegraph. AT&T also owns half of the 31,000 capital stock of the New York and Pennsylvania Telephone and Telegraph Company.
