Eames Optimistic On Dry Goods Outlook Despite Vacations
John C. Eames, vice-president of the H. B. Claf ls Company, just back from two months abroad, voiced cautious optimism about the dry goods trade. He cited a strong presence of buyers in town, pending large auction sales, and expected absorption of stock before regular channels drive orders. The undertone is steady with anticipated improvement across lines, and New York merchants plan to extend their reach with favorable rail rates for buyers. The autumn and winter outlook points to a solid season ahead.
