A long conference among British, French, and Allied leaders discussed the Ruhr occupation plan. France pushed a unilateral approach while Britain and Belgium favored Allied supervision with German troops, fearing a German withdrawal could be misused.
At a ministerial council in Brussels, under the king, Belgium announced readiness to join France and send a detachment to participate in the occupation of the Ruhr region as a show of allied solidarity.
A British official report states London opposed the French advance into Germany and favored letting German troops quell Ruhr disturbances under Allied supervision. Britain rejects military cooperation and warns against setting a precedent that could endanger the Versailles settlement amid broader Allied dissension.
A bandit robbed a mail train near an industrial suburb, forcing five clerks to the floor and taking a loot amount not available. The crime occurred as the train neared Knnny, then halted at Shef id before fleeing. No injuries reported.

Health Commissioner Copeland announced a plan to sell school milk at 8 cents per quart in dense districts through the Sheffield Farms arrangement. Horton proposed funds for 100 iceboxes and staff, with delivery to designated school stations supervised by the city health department.
A British white paper reports 1 089 outrages in Ireland from January 1919 to March 20 1920 attributed to the Sinn Féin movement. Thirty one police military officials and civilians died and many were shot at or assaulted as the unrest rose during this period.
Harriet Hearn a 28 year old manicurist from Grand Central Terminal sues Hector Havemeyer of York Avenue for 100000 in a breach of promise case. She says Havemeyer posed as Mr Palmer, pursued her for months, opened rooms for her, promised marriage and gifts, then confessed no real marriage intent. Havemeyer’s attorney denies the charges and calls the suit groundless.
Inspector Dominick Henry of the 4th Inspection District surrendered after being indicted for neglect of duty. Bail was set at 2500, posted by Pat Reardon. The grand jury also indicted detectives Gunson Maloney and others tied to Peters Restaurant, with transfers and reshuffles noted at Police Headquarters. The session featured heated exchanges among officials as jurors deliberated amid claims of perjury and disorderly conduct.
