London April 7 The British steamer Simla of 5884 tons gross was sunk. Eleven Asiatic crew members drowned and the rest were saved. Simla belonged to Peninsular and Oriental Line and was 430 feet long. Four other mail ships were sunk or damaged by torpedoes that day. Mrs. Arthur Murphy of 420 East Eightieth Street said she is sister-in-law of Edward McCallion and Jeremiah Murphy, seamen aboard the Simla.
