Scaffold Collapse At Shipyard Killing And Injuring Many

A scaffold around the stern of a ship on the Warriman Delaware river launch site collapsed as about 15 people stood to watch the Waukau launch. Ten to forty persons killed or drowned, with twenty-two injured. Divers, police, and workers searched the water, while authorities investigated the crowding and safety of the temporary walk.

Four U. 3 Fliers Dead in Santa Rosa collision

Four U. S. Navy fliers died and two were injured when two seaplanes collided in flight over Santa Rosa Island. Ensign Christian H. Weigel of Baltimore and HM A Robinson of Coldwater were among the dead. Ensign Ray Simpson of Anderson, S C was injured but reported improving. In Riverside California Lt. H. Tipperger of Moline was killed when an airplane crashed at Marel Field at 1000 feet. Cadet Packard of Bakersfield, who was with him, was seriously injured.
