Suicide and shooting at Brooklyn home reported
Newton Schoonmaker a Brooklyn mechanic shot his wife Leila Schoonmaker and killed Percival Covert in their Priest Street home. Covert, a Williamsburgh Trust Company clerk, left letters admitting embezzlement of 1000 dollars and planning suicide. Authorities declined to release other details.
