Collision between ferry Manhattan Beach and schooner Racer
The ferryboat Manhattan Beach on the Thirty fourth Street line to Long Island City collided head on with the coasting schooner Racer in the Mast River yesterday afternoon. The bowsprit tore through the ferry’s starboard paddle box causing panic among passengers bound for the race track. The bow struck the end of the shaft and the vessel nearly capsized. Passengers were thrown and life preservers distributed as deckhands reassured them no danger. The schooner, beating to the northwest, crossed the ferry’s bow. the collision damaged only the paddle box and the ferry continued to Long Island City before taking repairs.

Buffalo Building Collapse Injures Dozens in West Ferry Street
A three story brick building under construction on West Ferry Street in Buffalo collapsed this afternoon injuring twenty men and trapping thirty workers. Eight hurt seriously, six taken to hospitals, two sent home by ambulance. The contractor Morris & Allen employed the crew. no fatalities due to no roof and outward brick debris.

In New York last evening two youths fled into Hudson Theatre pursued by a policeman with drawn revolver. Patrons yelled and several men in evening clothes intervened to halt the suspects.
