A Madrid report says Sir Maurice De Bunsen could replace Sir Bryce as Ambassador to Washington. Bryce, aging, has not been recalled by the British government, though speculation grows about retirement. De Bunsen, 57, has been British Ambassador to Spain since 1900 and previously served in France and Portugal.
London dispatch says the German Ambassador Count von Bernstorff, praised by the Imperial Chancellor and Emperor William, may be awarded the Order of the Black Eagle and posted to London to broker peace with Britain. Nicholas Jacobs real estate dealer dies with his two daughters and two of his sons after a collision between their automobile and a trolley car six miles from Los Angeles. Mrs Jacobs and her two months old baby are dying. two sons Peter and John and Miss Josephine Solon escape with minor injuries. eight others injured in the crash and transfer to an electric car en route to Los Angeles.
Special to The New York Times reports Orrin Watson was killed and Louis Boore Jr. badly injured when steering gear failed sending the automobile into a telephone pole at high speed. Watson, from Hawkinsville, Ga., came to work for a coach company four years ago and had recently bought the car to drive visitors about town. Boore, injured severely but expected to survive, is the son of Louis Boore, a hotel proprietor.
Thousands gathered at Parliament Square to back Lloyd George's budget with singing and cheers while police kept order. The House of Lords debate featured Bishop of Hereford supporting the measure and Lord Balfour warning against its rejection as Crown leaders assess prospects for an election.

The National Highway Protective Society backs a bill for the coming legislative session requiring all motor vehicles except motorcycles to display front and rear number plates. Plates must be at least five inches high with strokes at least five eighths of an inch wide. three inch letters may be used for pee letters. Plates issued by the highway commission must be affixed distinctly and unobscured.
John D. Rockefeller Jr. and his wife spent Thanksgiving at their Tarrytown home enjoying time with the children who sledded on a nearby hill. Telegrams of thanks were exchanged with his father, who marked his first Thanksgiving in Cleveland in many years.

Mrs Evelyn Nesbit Thaw visits Matteawan State Hospital after a year, meets husband Harry Thaw and his mother Mary C Thaw, accompanies her brother Howard Nesbit. The reunion shocks Thaw, who exclaims upon entry. Evelyn storms off after a half hour talk saying she will never return.
In Trenton on November 9 a widow of fireman Charles Aten was saved from want when about $700 was found behind a wall picture at the old Exempt Firemen's Headquarters. Aten, who died by his own hand five years earlier, had stored his savings there during earlier years.
In Ohio on November 25, 17 year old Donald Geiselman shot and killed his father Cyrenius Geiselman while out hunting near Orrville. The elder man was husking corn on the farm when a shot from the son struck him, killing him.
In Defiance Ohio on November 25 19 year old Bessie Speck Williams Larcum faced a halted plan for a Thanksgiving third marriage. She had just been divorced from Edward Larcum and publicized a intended match with Benjamin Hill. Hill’s marriage license request was denied while the court reviews the divorce decree. The girl had first wed Percy Williams of Cincinnati at 16 and later married Edward J Larcum of Deshler in January.
A December storm snarled New York and New Jersey with rain sleet and snow. Mauretania could not reach her pier while Mauretania anchored off Fire Island, and coastwise ships battled rough seas. Widespread damage followed with downed wires, a toppled tree, and broken glass as Jersey City and Hoboken residents faced live-wire danger and transport disruption.

Newport Rhode Island November 25 The tug Patience under Captain George Willing arrived from Philadelphia to assist Reading Railway barge Kemberton and Conawago after two other barges E W Stettson and two crewmen drifted off Montauk in a gale. The Patience started from Philadelphia Sunday with three loaded barges in tow.
