Peter Gilsey Dies After Sudden Street Collapse
Peter Gilsey, 57, eldest son of the hotel founder, collapsed on Columbus Avenue near Sixty-first Street after a walk. He died within two hours at his Madison Avenue home. He had kidney disease and was an executor of a ten million dollar Gilsey estate with brothers Henry and John. Survived by wife, son Gardner, sisters, and two brothers. he was a known antiques collector and member of the Players and Metropolitan Museum of Art.
