Baltimore May 30 — Dr. John Abel and Dr. David Macht of Johns Hopkins University announce bufogin, a toad venom derived stimulant, as a powerful heart drug comparable to digitalis. They report the fluid from bufo aqua’s ear gland acts on the heart and cardio inhibitory center, with tests on bullfrogs showing positive results.
Judge William L. Dickson of Hamilton County agrees the Cincinnati Methodist Ministers Association committed contempt by approving resolutions opposing his court in the Ohio versus George B. Cox case. Sigmund Jacobson a jeweller from Manhattan died after collapsing at Silsbe's restaurant 509 Fulton Street Brooklyn during a meal. Doctor Robin son of Brooklyn Hospital attributed the death to acute indigestion. body taken to Adams Street police station. Jacobson was single and had dined about three quarters of an hour.

Pittsburg on May 30 witnessed the dissolution of the large two chamber councils. A new nine member body will govern, initially appointed for seven months, then elected citywide. Gov Tener may name the nine councilors imminently, marking the end of the old regime.
