Carpenter rescued from church roof fall in New York
Joseph Shanahan, a carpenter, fractured his leg in three places when a scaffold gave way on a church roof at St Thomas Episcopal Church near Fifty third Street and Fifth Avenue. Dr Botsford climbed a seventy five foot ladder to reach him and he was lowered to the street on a wide plank tied with ropes. Shanahan was later taken to Flower Hospital for treatment and was expected to recover.
