Copper Dividends Cut As Markets Show Little Change

Financial markets posted little movement with a generally flat day and slight gains in some stocks. Union Prolific rose briefly on reports of possible Hepburn bill defeat and Knickerbocker Trust prospects, while Southern Railway and Erie fell amid uncertainty. Copper and iron sectors signaled mixed prospects as Calumet and Hecla and Wolverine cut dividends, hinting at Amalgamated Copper’s future plans. Bank funding and money market activity improved modestly as government deficits and currency shifts influenced deposits and circulation.
