Bronx Polar Bear Finds Friend For Lonely Nansen
Doctor Nansen, a new polar bear at the Bronx Zoological Park, grew lonely until a starving Bronx dog slipped into his cage. The two befriended each other, sharing breakfast and play, with the bear quietly tender and the dog bold. By afternoon they slept side by side as crowds watched their unusual bond.

Frugal clambake scene and theatrical chatter at Wardell’s
The narrative recalls a seaside clambake near Wardell's Hotel with waves and a gramophone playing Love Me and the World's Mine. There is sports banter about a 73 to 73 score after five innings and Jack Hammond hitting two home runs in one inning. The Friars bless the meal, rain interrupts, and characters from the Herald Square Theatre and Automobile Fiends react with mixed feelings as the reunion ends with trains and boats taking revelers home. The Port-au-Pec Weekly Tribune teases a future note about the Friars.
