Milliken Plant Vandalism Shuts Mill at Mariners Harbor

A vandal with intimate knowledge of the Milliken Brothers steel works caused a total shutdown by damaging the plant’s power conduit under a street. Fuse plugs blew and the dynamo room froze as wires were cut and belts disrupted. About 450 workers remained at the site after 1,500 were laid off since the receivers took over.

Shot Girl in Carriage in Snowhill Md

In Snow Hill Maryland on a drive last night Ladie Davis shot Bessie Lambertson after she rejected a marriage proposal. The carriage wheels broke her collarbone and left arm as Davis drove away and the shot girl was found in the woods near her home. The incident occurred within 200 yards of the girl’s residence and was witnessed by her father.

In Boise June 18, testimony in Haywood murder trial revealed four 1905 letters arranging deceits about Orchard’s wife while he aided by Jack Simpkins in Caldwell.
