A New York hotel waiter strike rattled Coney Island as 1,500 diners faced long tables and nervous restaurateurs. Despite threats, most venues stayed open, with Reisenweber’s conceding a small raise to 50 extra waiters while major hotels reported swift recoveries and a view the strike was breaking.
Charles Warren Fairbanks proclaimed himself national champion amateur bill poster at Culver Indiana. He outstripped sixteen rivals by pasting a three sheet caricature on a large billboard. Chicago won a baseball game 53 to 16 over Indianapolis Come-on-Home society as Fairbanks pitched poorly.

Her father was the late Alexander Cravens and her grandfather the late Senator John R Cravens. Relatives in Madison received a cable and plan to ship her body home.
The New York Times reports Rev W W Bustard pastor of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church told his Cleveland congregation in the evening sermon to consider wife duties and domestic advice. Leroy Halanka a 19 year old law student of 1345 Clay Avenue was held on 1000 bail by Magistrate Freschi in Morrisania Court on a grand larceny charge. Real estate broker George H Janss alleged Halanka took 700 dollars to buy 21 shares of United States Rubber stock and disappeared. Detectives had sought Halanka since a December 20 warrant and he had a lawyer in court. Janss wished to withdraw the complaint after a settlement offer.
