Ambassador Henry Lane Wilson returned to Washington after confirming he stood by his Mexico City actions and rejected talks on his mediation plans. He dismissed attacks as politics and defended a telegram backing Huerta as correct. He also asserted letters from Mrs. Madero were altered and refused to discuss his own peace plans.
A second supplementary indictment was handed up by the Federal Grand Jury against David Lamar also known as David H. Lewis. The charges allege Lamar impersonated Congressmen Palmer and Clark and Senator Stone to defraud Lewis Cass Ledyard J P Morgan Co and United States Steel. District Attorney Marshall plans to consolidate the indictments before Lamar’s trial likely at the October term.
Wireless contact between America and Asia is now an accomplished fact as the U S Army Signal Corps Station at Nome, Alaska, has linked nightly with Russia’s Anadyr station, 500 miles away, after six months of effort under orders from Washington. Officials note a diplomatic agreement is needed before Nome can be used for Russian commercial competition with American firms.
John D. Mattsford was arrested in Boston after a 1500 mile pursuit from Atlanta. He faces charges of being a fugitive in the kidnapping of two children of cotton goods magnate John A. Boswick. Bail set at 1000 dollars. Mrs Boswick and Mrs Annie Laurie Jeter are sought. children believed with them.
Mrs Edward F Dunne, wife of Gov Dunne, was robbed of jewelry worth 700 dollars in a downtown Chicago department store rest room. A handbag was taken from her lap as she rested. Detectives guarded exits and searched the building but made no arrest. items were gifts to the Governor and Mrs Dunne.
Secretary Daniels stated that after the canal opens the American battleship fleet will be as large in the Pacific as the Atlantic. He expects the fleet to pass through the canal next April and to establish a naval base with dry docks in the Pacific, as San Bay sites are examined for suitability.

In dense fog off Pollock Rip, the steamer Persian collided with the steamship Millinocket. Capt. Page of the Merchants and Miners line steered Persian to Pollock Rip, then to berth with no injuries among 51 passengers. The Millinocket sustained starboard damage and both vessels stood by. The Persian proceeded to Newark with some damaged bulkheads and a sinking foredeck.
Mrs. Florence Thompson Baker wife of George F Baker chairman of the First National Bank New York died suddenly at Imlagh Tuxedo Park while hosting a luncheon for friends. She died two and a half hours after illness and was survived by husband George F Baker Jr and daughter Mrs William Goodby Loew.
John Clements aged 12 son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Clements of New York was lured by a man in a light wagon taken to an east side location and confined for three days before being abandoned near Beacon. Police tracked the case to New York where the boy was eventually returned to his family.
Friends of ex Gov M R Patterson of Memphis say his arrest in a Nashville raid was a political plot. They oppose Mayor Bowser and accuse the current administration of targeting Patterson over his bid for the United States Senate. The supporters voice indignation at the midnight raid and assert party interference.
Syracuse July 2. E W Cregg filed a report granting a decree of absolute divorce to Mrs Maurice B Flynn wife of Yale football player Lefty Flynn. The couple wed secretly in New York six months ago. A chorus girl testified she earned nine dollars for chores. she had previously worked as a chorus girl. The case involved a hotel stay six weeks ago. Flynn's mother is a former Syracuse resident.

Twenty three widows and sixty four children appeared before Judge Boyle at the Court of Common Pleas in Camden New Jersey to seek pensions under the new Legislature. The session opened this morning as part of the first hearing under the new law.

London reports two golfers attempted Maidstone to Littlestone-on-Sea about thirty miles in 2000 strokes and did it in 1087. A bet challenged Neville Foster and W Warman to run Forest Row to Crowborough eight miles in 350 strokes. they finished in 184 strokes with no balls lost.

Mrs Clarence H Mackay of New York arrived in Portland with a large staff and took possession of ex Mayor Adam P Leighton’s residence for a year with renewal option. Clarence H Mackay and three children sailed for Europe in the Imperator on June 8 leaving from a New Jersey resort. He had not been present in Maine at the time of arrival, and Mrs Mackay said she was unaware of his sailing plans.

Frankfort report states a man returning voluntarily to the State penitentiary after escaping twenty one years ago from his brother. The suspect, identified by a partial name Gamaca, was arrested recently following a reported anesthetic incident at 216 West Twenty seventh.
