Yemon, Friday Jan 31. Allies notify Turkey of armistice termination and hostilities may resume Monday night after the four day notice. Diplomatic circles hold faint hope to avert renewed war as Mahmud Shefket Pasha weighs yielding to circumstances amid Turkish army limitations.
Balkan Allies announce termination of the armistice effective at 7 p.m. tonight four days after Dec. 3. Greece had not joined. Turkey proposes to adjust Adrianople and Aegean islands while seeking tariff relief. Ottoman note pledges peace, cites defense needs, and warns against further Balkan demands. Mahmud Shefket Pasha delivered the reply to the Powers.
London dispatch reports rapid changes in Balkan Turkish negotiations as the Young Turks back a compromise nearing Bulgarian demands. Constantinople seeks only the Adrianople sacred shrine region while Bulgaria favors leaving mosques and shrines to Turkey, suggesting possible settlement.

Miss Mary C. Scream a Stapleton teacher was ordered into care of Rev. Arthur Dodd by Magistrate March after Dr Henry C Goodwin accused her of writing a large number of letters. Scream promised not to write more while Dr Goodwin expressed satisfaction with the arrangement. Counsel cited nervous trouble and unclear motive for the letters.

Clayton Draine, a local gambler, obtained a judge’s order to raid the Texas Club in Hot Springs Arkansas.
