Fire Scare Hits East New York Loft Fire Blocks Theatre Lights
A six story loft building at Liberty and Christopher Avenues East New York caught fire last night, four alarms sent firefighters to the scene. The blaze spread to a row of tenements on Sackman Street and forced evacuation of the Liberty Theatre as walls collapsed and trolley wires fell. Fireman John Connors was burned and St Marys Hospital said he would recover. Damage is estimated at dads.
