Parts of a human torso were found tied in two burlap bags frozen at the edge of a small pond between Coney Island and Ulmer Park. Clothing wrapped the body parts and Italian and English newspapers dated Dec 21 were included. John Connors and his son discovered the parcels while muskrat trapping, and police arrived with divers and cutters to retrieve the bundles from the icy edge. The upper torso was recovered and the fate of the arms and legs remained unknown as authorities investigated the grisly find.
