The stock market fell sharply with steel shares selling pressure and a rumor that the commodity clause case had gone against the railroads. Dr C C Clark associate statistician in the Department of Agriculture accepts appointment as Chief of the Bureau of General Statistics and Agricultural Information at the International Institute in Rome Italy effective immediately. Clark has long served the department.

A 10 year old girl Margaret Ryan slipped from a quiet midnight Alex ander Avenue Police Station to seek aid for her mother. Lieut. Catton sent Patrolman Murphy to take the girl to 297 East 135th Street where Ryan abused his wife and was arrested. The child was left in tears, safely returned home.
A. O. Brown stock broker and Edna Wallace Hopper end their honeymoon after a week long tour. Brown announced the couple have been married three months and will return to New York at once. The pair drew attention in Memphis for their apparent devotion. Brown may rejoin Hopper later if week stands rule.
