Dr. James T. Burdick of Brooklyn was appointed head surgeon at the State Soldiers and Sailors' Home hospital in Bath New York by the trustees. The former head surgeon Dr Oran W Smith denied resigning and claimed he would stay. Smith said he handed in resignation two months ago then withdrew it. trustees said it was accepted. Burdick, post medical examiner for the State Grand Army of the Republic, is expected to arrive by April.
