Rev Rufus A. Macurda pastor of the First Association of Spiritualists was seized by Central Office detectives on a fortune telling warrant. Police matron Isabella Goodwin helped marshal the case after Macurda allegedly advised clients to marry and offered stock tips while facing bail arrangements. He denied the charge, asserting he is a minister and a medium with a defense and bail posted by Mrs Hand.

Highwayman Apprehended After Flatbush Assault on Phoebe Isaacson
In Ditmas Avenue Crest, 6 o clock last night Miss Phoebesaac Isaacson of 227 Webster Avenue was attacked by a man from the shadows near Ocean Parkway. He struck her, kicked her, and grabbed her purse containing $5, then fled. A pursuing crowd and Policeman Thomas Leonard chased the suspect, Morris Vitali, to the Parkville Station where Isaacson identified him. Vitali, searched with no money found, will be arraigned in Flatbush Court as Isaacson plans to testify.

Hungry youth falls on track after tram ride
Henry Swan a 19 year old homeless man was found on the trolley tracks near Munson Hempstead L I. after being hit by a Jamaica bound car. He survived after five hours of unconsciousness and was taken to Hempstead Hospital where he recovered briefly. Swan said his parents died recently and he had been living on Long Island doing odd jobs. He had intended to beg a ride into Hempstead but collapsed.
