King Edward VI. An Appreciation sparks partisan debate
A review of Sir Clements R. Markham's volume argues it glorifies Edward VI as the most English king and attacks Tudor history. It notes Markham's tables of descent, his praise of Dudley and Lisle, and his blame of Somerset and Anne Stanhope for the young king's troubles. The piece calls the book a provocative partisan work.
