Miss Fannie Biden of Brooklyn and her sister Miss Mary Biden were struck by a runaway horse on South Broadway near Circular Street in Saratoga. Fannie sustained brain concussion and severe injuries. Mary had arm bruises and shock. They were taken to Congress Hall in unconscious condition. doctors fear Fannie may not recover.
Fred West of Boston died at Saratoga Hospital from injuries after being sandbagged in front of the United States Hotel early Sunday. He carried about $5,000, which was taken. This marks the third sandbagging at Saratoga in two weeks following a robbery of $700 from William McCarthy of Hoosick Falls on Lincoln Avenue Saturday night.
In Ousley County a fight left Jessie Nealy and Allen dead and five men and one woman wounded. Witnesses refuse details. Nearby Burning Springs in Clay County saw Sparks shot dead. Sparks had been charged with McDaniel's murder, was acquitted, and McDaniel's supporters suspect Sparks's death was vengeance for the verdict.
In Albany, Aug 25, at the Church of St. John's in the Wilderness Rev Dean Robins presided over the quiet marriage of Mrs S J Cornell of Montclair and A B Forsyth a New York broker. Only about six guests attended including Miss Lillian B Cornell. The couple reportedly left for Montreal after a brief wedding and asked no public notice.
Charles Miller aged 28, owner of the auxiliary yacht Lillian and Corinthian Yacht Club officer, drowned in Stamford Conn this afternoon while working on his boat. Spectators could not aid him as he slipped over the stern and struck the propeller, losing consciousness before his body was recovered.

Boston Aug 25. Secretary Cortelyou said Gen Miles will go to the Philippine Islands with the President’s permission to inspect army conditions there.
Gen. Miles twice asked to be sent to the Philippines. In 1900 he wanted command of American forces in the Philippines and China but was denied by President McKinley. In February he outlined a plan to end the war and sought to go, but President Roosevelt did not consent.
Celia Dibble Roberts wife of ex congressman Brigham Roberts, elected in 1898 and unseated for polygamy, has given birth to twins the second in her marriage. The first pair are girls born before the campaign, with banners in Gentile cities carrying the pables with their titles. The last pair are boys. Mrs Roberts is wife No 2 and sister to wife No 1.
The former Miss Florence Hazard of Red Bank New Jersey has joined the Roman Catholic Church. She was baptized by Rev James A Reynolds pastor of St James Church in Red Bank. Her parents Mr and Mrs E C Hazard Episcopalians summered with them at Shrewsbury.
