Albany dispatch reports major Republican rifts between Gov. Odell and Sen. Platt threaten Roosevelt’s 1904 renomination. Gov Odell arrived in Albany on the Empire State Express at 6 55 PM with Mrs Odell and aides. He declined to comment on Baker's rejection and pledged to tackle pending bills and anticipated mortgage tax legislation. The Senate Finance Committee plans to push major appropriations Monday night and require revenue measures before signings.
Cincinnati reports George B. Cox as stating Ohio Republicans have settled on Myron T. Herrick of Cleveland as their gubernatorial candidate. Cox notes ninety nine Hamilton County delegates backing Herrick and argues his nomination would strengthen the party, especially in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County, for Hanna and Roosevelt.

Reports from Phoenix say W. R. McKeen an Indiana railroad man has partially developed a gold deposit near Hot Springs Arizona. A syndicate including McKeen and Garret T. Ryan plans nearly 500000 in water works to mine and ship ore from a one mile long by 300 feet wide area with rock showing five dollars in gold per ton.
