Officials report Dr J Arnold of Duluth attempted to escape from the St Peter hospital for the criminally insane. A candy box sent to him concealed three steel saws and morphine. An investigation by US postal authorities and the State Board of Control is likely to send Arnold back to Duluth for trial. The board also approved hospital mail openings to curb drug access. A New Ulm Commercial Club meeting plans to boost membership and discuss armory matters. G H Becker, who runs a South Minnesota restaurant, was bitten by his new English setter, feared hydrophobia but no disease developed.
