Star Witness In Roberts Case Arrested in Redwing Transfer
Lillie Janttsch a 16 year old Sleepy Eye girl turned over to Sheriff Julian by Blue Earth County authorities. On August 24 she was arrested in Mankato for vagrancy and sentenced to the county jail. She faced incor rigibleness charges in this county and was sent before Judge Cutting at Sleepy Eye who ordered training school custody at Redwing pending approval by Judge Olsen. Roberts case had been stalled since her disappearance earlier.

During a fierce thunderstorm on Wednesday a bolt of lightning hit the chimney of the Northwestern freight depot around five. No serious damage occurred though bricks loosened and soot and dust spread through the area. The incident frightened workers in the office.

Two Auto Accidents and Shifting Blame On Center Street
An afternoon collision on Center Street near Red Front Grocery left minor damage to both cars with no injuries. Veteran farmer dies after freight collision near Springfield
Diem Crawford, 78, longtime Brows county resident, was struck by a west bound freight train while crossing tracks to mail a letter. He suffered severe leg injuries, remained conscious, but died at St. John’s hospital. Coroner Dr. Reineke ruled accidental death. railroad workers aided him until the train passed. Survived by widow, daughter Mrs. M S Wilson, and two sons William of Sheppard Mich and O C Crawford of Jamestown ND.

Pirates Lose City Championship To New Ulm Athletics
In a rambunctious city title game New Ulm Athletics overwhelmed the Pirates 15 to 8. Ahrens' squad peppered Thompson with 15 hits while Huhn and Kleinschmidt led the Athletics with key doubles and triples.
