Mrs Reinhold Mueller received a severe cat bite on September 5 resulting in middle finger amputation on Monday. Doctors Strickler and Vogel found bone necrosis after swelling and blood poisoning, performing the operation that led to her improvement.
New Ulm hosts strong bid for the German Catholic Benevolent Aid Association convention in 1904. Delegates from St. Josephs Verein plan to invite the gathering, aiming to attract 350 to 400 delegates and possibly up to a thousand attendees for Catholic Day. Rival groups from Le Sueur Winona St Cloud vie for the plum, with Wabasha hosting the current year.

The pulpit supply committee was told to have ministerial candidates file applications to elect a successor to Rev. S G Updyke in about a month.
