The Brown County Agricultural Society stages its 40th Brown County Fair September 15 to 17 with purses over 1000 dollars in two days of races. New attractions include Kame Kichi Troupe and a trained-dog acrobatic act. 40 fast horses are entered. Friday September 16 is New Ulm day with stores closing in the afternoon.

Two Hurt In Automobile Accident In New Ulm
A high speed crash on Hospital road near New Ulm left four Sleepy Eye youths injured after a test drive in W W Smith’s new car. Arthur Smith and Hugo Johnson were hospitalized with serious injuries. Seifert and Reid had minor bruises. The car was a total loss.

Destruction of Three Story Brew House at Hauenstein Brewery
The three story brick and reinforced concrete brew house of John Hauenstein Brewing collapsed shortly after noon on Thursday after blasting at nearby quarries. About 2,000 barrels of beer flooded driveways, ammonia smell filled the air, and two wagons were buried beneath debris. Loss estimated at 25 000 to 35 000 with 12 000 beer value. repair plans underway with Richard Greisser of Chicago supervising.

Democratic State Committee Sets Midwest Meeting Date
Democratic state central committee chairman Frank Day called a Sept. 15 meeting in St. Paul with time and place to be decided. Fred B. Lynch received a telegram from John Lind indicating he will return to Minnesota and likely accept the governor nomination. Gov. Lind is expected home before Sept. 15, though exact day not disclosed.
