Daylight Burglary Ends Swift Capture
A tall young man posing as a boarder at Adolph Alwin’s 720 3rd North Street home in New Ulm triggered a daytime burglary spree. Items stolen totalled a suitcase, a cornet, cuff buttons, a safety razor, cigars, a Norwegian coin collection, a Kodak, and a sword found left on a bed. Police traced the suspect to William McDowell of Newark New Jersey, arrested him near Klossner, and recovered all stolen property. McDowell appeared before Justice Hennings with further proceedings set for June 4.
