In Sleepy Eye a man named Ebenhoe drowned after a boat capsized on the icy Cottonwood River near Corey's place. Brand attempted rescue, both men went under, Ebenhoe perished, Brand survived. Coroner ruled accidental death. body recovered about an hour later and a funeral planned for the Catholic church in Sleepy Eye. Ebenhoe was 25, born in Gelettia Austria, married Sophie Grausam with two children. />

The Medical Society of Brown and Redwood Counties planned a Thursday dinner meeting at Loretto Hospital with program talks by Dr. O C Strickler on The Significance of Abdominal Pain and Dr L A Fritache on Por and a discussion of cases. Officers listed include Dr J L Schoch and Dr G F Reineke with board member Dr G B Weiser. The society has twenty two members. The meeting was postponed one week due to the death of the Mother Superior.

Exhibits Highlight Record Attendance at Public Schools
Friday exhibit day drew larger crowds than any prior year. The Seventh Grade room overflowed with visitors while Union Buildings hosted two hundred parents and friends and twenty fathers attended the Washington Building program. East Primary planned an open air May pole drill though rain limited turnout. Exhibits and programs were, as usual, well received.

Saxophones for Second Regiment Band Fund Drive

Monument to Milford Massacre Victims Ready for Dedication
The Junior Pioneers committee Herman Hein J A Oche Henry J Bastian and Athanas Henle completed the monument to Milford residents killed in the Todian Massacre. New Ulm High Earns Four Points at Carleton Meet
New Ulm High School track team debuted at Carleton College in Northfield earning four points among fifteen schools. Fritsche and Massopust won events, Garvey of Faribault set a pole vault mark, and Cummins of Hector took the half mile. Stillwater won the relay after disqualifications with Windom, Northfield, and others scoring. New Ulm plans to compete next in Mankato.
