White Way to Depots Sign Up Drives Local Fundraising
About 1800 dollars has been subscribed by property owners for the white way to the two railroad stations along Second North and First South Streets. The committee expects several hundred more soon and a council levy of about 500 dollars may be needed, with parks along the routes. Railroads may contribute, and the idea includes extending the white way onto depot grounds. Otto Oswald plans a waiting room at New Ulm Steam Laundry for rapid cleaning. A pilot proposal offered to an unsuspecting newspaperman led to a suit cleaned, pressed and packed in 90 minutes with a receipted bill arriving by morning mail.
