State Highway Commissioner Babcock will be in Sleepy Eye June 10 delivering multiple talks on the Babcock road plan. He will address a Brown County Park Bureau picnic at the Wm. Unhooked tree causes runaway injuring Alex Reinhart
A single unhooked tree on Alex Reinhart's wagon started a runaway Tuesday afternoon. Reinhart was thrown, bruised in the face and left arm, but climbed back to his seat and halted the team. The accident happened in front of John Dengler's bakery on North Minnesota street. Miss Marie Losleben returned to Sleepy Eye after visiting New Ulm relatives.

County approves Lafayette road route change in Nicollet board meeting
At a Nicollet county meeting in St. Peter last week, $375 was allotted to Lafayette township to straighten the road from the southeast corner of section 25 to the north south highway on the Lafayette Bernadotte line. Landowners Claus Swanson Carl Sporer and Henry Wrede are involved. Twenty seven landowners petitioned for the improvement. The county also approved construction of county ditch No 70 in Blegrade township after a largely unopposed hearing.

A new labor union was organized last Friday at Creamery hall under the New Ulm Central Labor Union. Jos Klaus led the meeting and outlined the goal of uniting unorganized workers to improve conditions and wages. Jean B Spielmann urged joining the restructured Federal Labor Union No 16083 and noted opposition to unions in the city. Officers elected for the ensuing year include president to be elected later, vice president H J Hauser, recording secretary Helmuth Bluhm, financial secretary J He Haenze, trustees Wm J Hoss Jr and others, with first meeting date to be announced.

In United States district court at Mankato Judge Booth presided over the alienation suit brought by Mrs. Bonnie Olsen against her in law parents in law Mr. and Mrs. D M Olsen. After four hours deliberation the jury found in favor of the plaintiff and awarded $25,000. Aviator Fred Parker Stages Aerial Exhibitions In New Ulm
Fred Parker of Mankato, a veteran aviator, visited New Ulm Saturday afternoon. District Court Begins May Term With Fifteen Cases Carried Over
The district court opens Monday May 17 for this year’s May term. Grand jurors report at 11 a.m., followed by the petit jurors.
