Five Die In Wreck As Trains Collide East Of Lamberton
A head on collision between passenger trains 616 and 517 four miles east of Lamberton left six or more dead and twelve injured. The wreckage included a wooden smoker and express cars. Ed Clark L. S. Fuller E C Larsen E W Augustine Joseph Blonde died. Injured included W H Niessner J B Keeler Joseph Freising Bert Olson and others. The east bound train 516 caused the smash up by failing to meet at the planned station following revised orders.

Narrow escape after trains collide between Lamberton and Sanborn
A letter from Mr and Mrs Geo Hang of Frankfort South Dakota reports they and other passengers on the west bend and eastbound trains escaped serious injury after a head on collision between Lamberton and Sanborn early Thursday. Mrs Hang telegraphed home from Tracy to ease fears and recalls the terror and cries of the injured. The Hangs, just out of New Ulm, had stayed to Thursday morning, missing the planned Wednesday return.

Big Day for New Ulm High School Commencement
May 27 1920 marks the largest New Ulm high school graduating class to date. Over fifty seniors will receive diplomas across English scientific home economics and Latin tracks, with two postgraduates earning teacher training certificates. New Ulm to Host Outdoor Air Exhibition May 8
Veteran aviator Fred Parker of Mankato will headline New Ulm’s outdoor season opening on Saturday May 8 arriving shortly after 1 PM at the Fair Grounds. Parker will perform aerial exhibitions over the city in his Curtis passenger machine with parachute drops and will be joined by Canadian daredevil Willoghby if he arrives. Passengers may ride for a fee. A storm could postpone to the next Saturday. Mrs Han ns Hausmann died in Austin Texas on March 4 1920. her husband, former Brown County Register of Deeds, is noted.

The annual report shows H W Engelbert elected to succeed G A Ottomeyer as director. If past year profits hold, the plant is paid in three years and about $12 000 remains in a sinking fund. Total steam receipts were $11 091.85 plus $73.71 interest. expenses $287.90 leaving $10 877.46 to be distributed. Interest to stockholders at 6 percent totals $1 879.85, $2 034.96 goes to depreciation, leaving $6 962.85 to retire stock and lower the purchase price to $24 367.98. The city would own a plant worth about $43,587.80 with about $12,000 in depreciation. Net income last year about $9,000 beyond expenses and interest. Receipts by months are noted.
