Emil G. Hage was elected president of the Bankers Association at the Laveroe convention held last week at Brown County Bank. J Burr Ludlow and George W. Sugden were named vice president and secretary, with 143 bankers attending. A Blue Mounds picnic and an hotel Manitou banquet followed, speakers including Major Albert Pfaender and Albert of the Minneapolis Tribune. Next year’s convention will be at Fairmont.

A sequence of mishaps during Hoodoo Week left several youths and adults injured. Ewald Saver, 21, suffered scalp wounds requiring stitches after a wagon tip fractured near North German Street.
