The 4th annual student concert under Prof Reuter impressed with Mendelssohn and other works, encores granted, Steinway piano bought for 1000 dollars, and closing ceremonies featured Cherished tributes from parishes and synod representatives.

Minneapolis lawyer Einar Hoidale filed on the Democratic ticket for Congress in the Fifth district. He previously ran in 1910 but lost the primary to Thomas Dwyer, the so called dinner pail candidate. Prof Sperling Honored. Sperling, born in 1442 in Gusteo, Schiesien, Ger, graduated at Schreberhau and settled at Kraschwitz and Grosa Perschen. He emigrated to America in 1869, taught in Monroe and Segview, Mich., and Appleton, Wis. He came to New Ulm in 1901 and taught at D. M. S. College thereafter.

Doctor Wilson Leaves City Under Suspended Sentence
City Justice B. H. Deters presided as Dr. E. C. Wilson known as Dard admitted guilt on beating his board bill at the Grand Hotel. He fled New Ulm after learning he needed a medical license, was captured in Fairfax, paid back funds, and left town under a suspended sentence.

K C Initiation and Banquet Draw Knights to City
Sunday’s warm weather drew about 200 Knights from nearby towns to a joint K C initiation in which 45 candidates were admitted. Seventy-one St Peter and New Ulm members attended the ceremonies, with the first degree led by Mankato council, second by the local lodge, and third by Minneapolis council. A banquet for 350 followed at the schoolhouse with Rev Father Schlinkert as toastmaster and speeches by Rev Henry P Fey, Rev D J Moran, Rev Schott, and J H Nightingale. The program included solos by Gertrude Ross, Miss Marie Groenenfelder, and John Wartha with accompaniment, plus humor from Attorneys J Regan and D L Holland. Gruenenfelder’s Orchestra provided music until about 11. Visiting Knights departed by streetcar and trains after a day of driving tours.

Milford Man Gored by Bull in Barn Incident
Andrew Backer of Milford was attacked by a bull while leading it from the barn. The animal charged after him, struck the abdomen, and threw him into a milk-house door, causing a hard fall and back pain. No bones broke and no internal injuries reported, but he is shaken and likely to be sidelined for some time.
