Leg Gashed While Bathing by River Accident

Anton Panui an eleven year old boy was severely cut on his right knee while swimming in the Minnesota river last Wednesday. A piece of broken glass or similar sharp object caused the gash four inches long requiring chloroform for treatment. The boy's father Anton Jann reports the injury occurred as he jumped from the bank into the water and the wound became infected by debris in the river.

Would Absorb Quarries and Lime Works in Minnesota Plan

A Minneapolis syndicate led by American Lime Syndicate aims to control Minnesota lime output by purchasing quarries and kilns at New Ulm and Stolz and Winkelmann properties. The deal contemplates multiple new kilns, 4000 to 50000 barrels yearly, and a regional network with hundreds employed. Mills threaten appeal over demurrage charges

Hold Him Responsible for Fredrickson Train Injuries

Benjamin Fredrickson of Hanska may fail to receive damages after falling from a Minneapolis and St. Louis train in the city last week. Carmichael, the road’s claim agent, is not expected to recommend a settlement. Rail officials contend Fredrickson Jumped and that the company bears no liability, noting his grip was found away from the fall and witnesses say he admitted jumping from the train. They emphasize warnings to passengers to stay off platforms during motion.
