Vocalist Libaire Wins Damages in Rail Accident Suit
New York vocalist Emma M. Libaire was awarded 11500 by a jury in St Paul district court after an 25000 suit against the Minneapolis and St. Louis railroad. The second trial followed a prior disagreement. Libaire, injured at Cottagewood on Lake Minnetonka on August 19, 1908, says she earned 3000 annually before the crash and has not sung since due to permanent injuries and nervous condition.
